See the Whole
Every opportunity exists within a larger system of people, priorities, relationships, and market conditions.
Architect · Relationship Builder · Business Development Leader
I was born in Popayán, Colombia, educated in Bogotá, Colombia, shaped professionally by New York, and now call San Francisco home.
Each city gave me something different: an appreciation for history, a foundation in architecture, the confidence to work at an international scale, and a deeper understanding of how relationships create opportunity.
Origin and Formation
Popayán was founded on January 13, 1537 and is one of the oldest cities in the Americas. Its white façades, historic churches, and views toward the Puracé volcano create the setting where my story begins.
Being born there gave my journey an architectural starting point and a connection to history, craftsmanship, and the way a place can influence how people see the world.
In Bogotá, architecture became a discipline. At the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, I learned to look beyond the surface of a problem, understand its context, recognize how the parts connect, and develop solutions that work for the people who will experience them.
Architecture taught me to listen before proposing an answer. That way of thinking continues to shape how I approach projects, clients, partnerships, and business opportunities.

The Person Behind the Journey
I have always been interested in how people, places, and ideas connect.
That curiosity is the thread running through my work, from architecture and international project leadership to strategic accounts and business development.
I listen for context, look for connections others may miss, and help people move from possibility to action.
New York to San Francisco
Before entering the building products industry, I worked as a project manager on interior architecture projects in New York, Hamburg, and Helsinki. I then moved into account services and digital strategy, supporting Pfizer Oncology and Genentech BioOncology.
At Walker Zanger, I brought that foundation into the building products industry, combining business development, showroom operations, and A&D engagement. The role taught me how a premium brand is experienced across the showroom floor, the design community, and the commercial relationship behind every specification.
In 2015, I moved to San Francisco and began building a new professional network on the West Coast. At Stone Source, I worked with leading architecture and design firms on European natural stone and designer tile, including a major Adobe project with Gensler San Jose. At LIXIL, the scale became global as my work expanded across strategic accounts, distributor channels, specifications, and partnerships with Ferguson Home showrooms.
Business Development
Architecture gave me design fluency. Project management gave me discipline. Digital strategy strengthened my understanding of communication and customer behavior. Sales taught me how trust, timing, and consistent follow-through turn opportunity into growth.
Across stone, surfaces, plumbing, and design-driven building products, I have worked between manufacturers, architects, designers, distributors, showrooms, contractors, developers, and ownership groups.
My role is often to help those different worlds understand one another and create a clearer path from design intent and specification to commercial opportunity.
Every opportunity exists within a larger system of people, priorities, relationships, and market conditions.
Growth happens when the right stakeholders understand the value they can create together.
Strong business development is built through curiosity, usefulness, consistency, and follow-through.
Experience
Represented American Standard, GROHE, GROHE SPA, and DXV within LIXIL's global water technology portfolio. Managed the Ferguson Home relationship across eight showrooms and expanded the architecture and design specification pipeline.
Expanded business across more than 20 architecture and design firms, representing a design-led portfolio of European natural stone and Mutina tile. Contributed to major corporate work, including Adobe North with Gensler San Jose, while expanding specifications across corporate and hospitality projects.
Helped reposition the New York flagship showroom and expanded relationships with leading architecture and design firms, including Rockwell Group and Spector Group.
What I Bring Today
I bring these perspectives together to help design-driven building products companies strengthen strategic accounts, expand into new markets, develop channel partnerships, and build lasting relationships with the architecture and design community.
The goal is not activity for its own sake. It is better alignment, stronger relationships, and commercial momentum that can last.
Beyond the Work
Max is my pug and constant sidekick. He keeps life grounded, makes sure no walk is postponed indefinitely, and takes his role as chief companion very seriously.
